Sitting Council members win big in Greenwood election

The incumbents fared well in Greenwood's town election on Saturday, with all three winning reelection by wide margins.

Norman Reed got 57 votes, Willard Russell 56, and Donald Torbert 57, the town reported.

The closest challenger, Lisa Workman, got 21 votes. Michael Phillips garnered 16 votes, and Anthony Massey 13.

Reed has served four years on the Council. Torbert has been in office since 2014. Russell, the vice mayor, is the longest-serving member of the group. In a campaign letter, he said he served a stint on Council in the 90s and his latest tenure began in 2007.
